This mob of kids is the PE class I taught today at the school my kids attend and where I often substitute. Many of them are 8th graders, and this photo reminded me of what they will soon be doing--moving on, graduating from this school, walking away from this common ground, taking steps away from childhood toward adulthood and independence. They're excited and I'm excited for them...but still, any kind of "walking away" carries tinges of sadness.

April 24--Moving on
